Feminist Curatorial Practices and Feminist Canon-Building Strategies as Political Actions Acknowledging the presence of gender gate-keeping mechanisms within art and creative industries, feminist curatorial practices and feminist theories of canon-building share common affirmative goals and methods. Both feminist curatorial practices and feminist canon-building suggest political action via their ways of selecting, representing and contextualising specific models. In my presentation, I will make use of feminist theories of canon-building to reflect upon feminist curatorial strategies as political actions. Katja Kobolt (PhD) lives and works as a feminist cultural producer, curator and theorist in Ljubljana and Munich. She worked as co-director and programmer of the City of Women Festival (Ljubljana).
